Origin of the Company Name
The company name, Kappa Medical, was inspired by the Japanese mythical water-dwelling creature known as a kappa. In Japanese folklore, kappa are water spirits that live in rivers and lakes and are often thought to be mischievous, but they are also known to have passed on medicinal herbs and medical knowledge to humans.
At Kappa Medical, we have incorporated the spirit of the kappa, with its freethinking and interest in medicine and drugs, as a symbolic element into our company name.
